Dr. Shanta Proctor has had a lifetime mission of being a catalyst for change impactful leadership. Since 2008, Shanta has served as the Senior Consultant to HP Executive Solutions. Shanta has a history of success. She was the Top Graduate of Political Science for the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Southern University and A&M College; and obtained a master’s degree in Vocational Education from Louisiana State University (LSU). She went on to earn her doctorate degree (Ph.D.) also from LSU in Human Resource Education and Workforce Development. She has worked extensively with community development organizations, nonprofit leadership and Women’s organizations.
Shanta’s professional career includes a wide array of experiences, including the Louisiana State Senate, international organizations, and teaching at LSU. In 2006, she was appointed as Executive Director of the Governor’s Office on Women’s Policy for Louisiana. As the first African-American and youngest person in this role, her leadership was essential in establishing numerous strategic partnerships, programs, and campaigns in support of women leaders. Dr. Proctor has received several awards and is involved with various community activities. She is a member of the Southern Regional Education Board’s Doctoral Scholars Association and additionally serves on the boards of the Louisiana Women’s Foundation, the Waller Pregnancy Care Center, and the Leadership Council of the Center for Women and Government at Nicholls State University. As a consultant, she works with a wide array of organizations and corporations to support goal attainment and success.
